Arrest Records Australia has announced the cancellation of the upcoming Pears tour scheduled for May.

From the promoter Greg Bower...

"It is with much sadness and deep regret, but we have made the decision to cancel the upcoming Pears Australian tour. We deeply apologise to the band, and all of the Australian fans of Pears. This wasn’t an easy decision, with several factors involved. We believe it is not fair for the band, venues involved, or you the fans, to be playing to a room of only five people. A severe lack of ticket sales was a considerable factor in our decision to cancel, with less than 5 tickets pre-sold at some venues. We love supporting the music community, by attending shows and offering our services as best we can at shows. And unfortunately, the Pears tour didn’t get the support and love that we know the Australian music industry is capable of showing. We are very, very sorry again to Pears, and everybody that was going to attend. All pre-purchased tickets will be refunded."

From Pears...

"Hey yall, bad news. Unfortunately, our Australian tour has been cancelled. The promoter pulled the plug, and when something like that happens to a band like us, there’s not much we can do. All guarantees become question marks, and we just can’t afford to do it. The only way international stuff is possible for us is by assurance that we won’t have to pay for it out of pocket (because we can’t), and when the promoter says “do not come, I can not pay you” we don’t go. We’ll be back as soon as possible. Please pester bigger bands with more money that are coming to Australia to bring us. Thanks. - Zach"

Arrest Records Australia are beyond thrilled to announce their first tour for 2018, with New Orleans, Louisiana’s Pears returning to our shores this coming May.

Pears last toured Australia with label mates and regular visitors Strung Out in March of 2016, tearing up stages around the country with their incredible blend of blistering hardcore and melodic pop punk.

Since forming in early 2014, Pears have released two sensational full-lengths (“Go To Prison” in 2014 and “Green Star” in 2016), along with last years “Human Movement” split with Direct Hit, all on Fat Wreck Chords.

Tickets go on sale via Oztix Thursday 1st February, with many shows in intimate venues, that are sure to sell out fast.
