Why is this site called Rest Assured?
Well it’s a continuation of the print fanzine, Rest Assured that took its name from a Hot Water Music song. The zine was around between 2003-2005 and it used to cover a broad range of Australian and International bands of differing styles and sounds. Through the website, the intention was to pick up where the zine left off.
How often is the site updated?
The news section of the site is updated every day, so to stay on top of things you'll have to check in regularly or throw us a like on social media so our updates hit your news stream. The other features are basically done when the interviewees respond to the questions we've sent through to them.

What happened to the record label, Rest Assured Records?
The label has ceased to put out new releases due to the current climate of people more engaged with downloading music than actually purchasing physical records. While it doesn't seem to be problematic to shell out close to $10 for a beer at a show, doing the same for a band's record is simply out of the question. I'm from "insert name" here PR Agency? Why haven't the press releases I've sent through been getting posted? Why won't you answer my emails?
Believe it or not, we are under absolutely no obligation to post any of your press releases and answer any of your persistent emails about why, because quite simply you do nothing to support us. You're getting paid to promote a release, so the band, touring company or label obviously has a marketing budget, spend some of it with us for a change and the relationship is bound to alter. Otherwise keep on emailing us and we'll keep deleting them. We are record collectors, we like physical records, maybe send us some records in the post as a thank you for helping publicise your news. We believe in two way streets.

We don’t rotate banner ads, so once you’ve booked a banner, only your artwork will appear for the designated period. It was a lot of work for very little reward. We collect records. We enjoy music in physical formats. Arrest Records and Pee Records were the only labels that ever really sent through vinyl to be reviewed, everyone else sent through mp3s. What was the benefit in forcing ourselves to listen to music and then trying to write a review that didn't offend anyone. Fuck that! However, if you're stoked we've run your news about the release and what to repay us with some records, then that is 100% acceptable.
What happened to the Videos section?
Waste of time. Everyone knows how to use Youtube to search for videos. Try it, you'll figure it out.
What happened to the forum?
No one used it and it got hacked with spam. So guess what? We fucked it off.
Would Rest Assured be interested in co-presenting or sponsoring an upcoming tour?
We're always looking for ways to help spread the word about Rest Assured, so are always open to these kind of suggestions. Nope, sorry we simply don’t have the budget for that, as we barely covering operating costs as it is.

The majority of our audience are not solely MP3 collectors and still believe in owning music in a physical format be that Vinyl, CDs or Cassette Tapes.
