Spacebong

South Australian sonic titans Space Bong have announced a tour that will see them peddle their soul-crushing mix of doom and drone across Australia and South East Asia in support of their new album, Deadwood To Worms.

In the last few years Space Bong have proved they can hold their own with some of the highly regarded heavy bands on the planet, including Neurosis, YOB, Om and Wolves In The Throne Room. In March 2015 the six-piece hit the road with Melbourne’s rising sludge stars Horsehunter, playing across Australia in support of their new cassette In Doom We Crust.

Now, thanks to FALSExIDOL Records, Space Bong are undertaking their biggest tour yet, spanning multiple continents in support of their long-awaited follow up to 2009’s The Death Of Utopia, with dates announced in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Not only expanding geographically, Space Bong have added a 7th member in the form of noise veteran, Michael Ellingford AKA Deafault, to unleash the full live experience in it's honest totality and brute harshness. And this time they drag Adelaide's young doom/death provocateurs, Tombsealer, out into the wilderness of Australia's endless highways for a number of shows.

Entitled Deadwood To Worms, the new album showcases the evolution of Space Bong’s intense and focused form of doom, incorporating elements of sludge, black metal, stoner rock and darkest drone. This is a doom record that transcends all that has come before it, seething with a bitter nihilism that longs for meaning and resolution in a world of violent chaos and urban decay.

Not willing to surrender to musical trends or outside influences, Space Bong have deliberately remained aloof of the inner doom scene circles, continuing to be outsiders amongst outsiders. Deadwood To Worms is modern in its eclecticism, yet raw in capturing the essence of what heavy music can be.

It’s been eight years since Space Bong were first willed into being. With plans for new releases and intensive international touring in 2016, their arrival in the global extreme music scene has begun.

Don’t miss your chance to witness Australia’s greatest doom band in all of it’s deafening glory.
