With the global West descending into fascism and an American government hell bent on strengthening the police state and spreading egregious disinformation, the timing is as urgent as ever for Planet On A Chain to deliver another album on Revelation Records. Ritual Routine will release on October 3rd through the pivotal hardcore label, and today Planet On A Chain deliver a three song promo, Mangled and Twisted. Recorded and mixed by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios, the fast paced tracks roar with a sense of urgency and purpose.

With the Mangled and Twisted EP, Planet On A Chain shares “Mangled and Twisted,” “Reveal The Worst,” and “One Step.” The song "Mangled and Twisted" discusses the ongoing nightmare of landmines used in ground warfare and the terror they continue to force communities to suffer through years after a conflict has ended. The video for the track depicts imagery of violence in entertainment mixed with performance shots of the band.

On the track, vocalist Dave Ackerman adds:

“I wrote the lyrics to ‘Mangled and Twisted’ about ground warfare. The truth about landmines is horrible. I just wanted to focus on their use as a psychological weapon as much as their ability to kill and maim whoever comes across them. The possibility of living a life maimed or dying a painful and slow death would weigh heavy on anyone.”

Once a band whose notoriety rested heavily on the "members of" angle, Planet On A Chain have become mainstays of the Revelation Records roster: an interstate outfit featuring four members from Northern California's volatile hardcore punk scene and a vocalist from Texas by way of New Jersey whose combined output totals over a century of making some of the most urgent and forward thinking bands of their respected eras. Since forming, the band has released 2022 full-length Deprogram, 2023’s Boxed In - an LP worth of re-recorded demo material, and 2024’s Culture Of Death. With the forthcoming Ritual Routine, Planet On A Chain’s fast, politically-fueled hardcore punk is as relevant now as ever.

Planet On A Chain is Dave (vocals), Brian (guitar), Alex (guitar), Tobia (bass), and Moses (drums).
