POISON CITY ANNOUNCES THE MEANIES 10% WEIRD REISSUE

Poison City and Melbourne's seminal punk-rock champs The Meanies have been diving back into the vaults to re-master and re-issue their classic early albums on vinyl. Having already released 'Come N See' LP & a special gatefold LP version of 'Gangrenous/ In Search Of' EPs earlier this year, '10% Weird' 2xLP will be the final re-issue in the series.

Originally released in 1994 on Au Go Go and Munster Records, '10% Weird' is widely regarded as The Meanies defining album. Recorded in Seattle and spawning the singles 'Conan', '10% Weird' and 'Ton Of Bricks', the release of '10% Weird' saw The Meanies become one of Australia's most popular alternative bands through the mid-90's. As well as scoring supports with the likes of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Superchunk and Fugazi during this exciting era, The Meanies touring ethic was also largely responsible for cultivating a thriving All Ages punk/ rock scene across Australia.

Poison City's limited edition double LP re-issue includes the '10% Weird' album re-mastered at WWSM, NY with a second LP that includes 11 B-Side tracks from the album singles. All packaged in a deluxe gatefold jacket with coloured vinyl.

Forming in 1989, The Meanies' catchy-as-hell, buzz-saw style of punk rock and a reputation for blistering and often dangerous live shows quickly gained a cult following across Australia. After releasing several sold-out 7"s via influential Melbourne indie label/ shop Au Go Go Records, The Meanies unleashed their debut album 'Come N See' in 1991 which saw the band tour consistently to growing crowds across Australia and perhaps most importantly, cultivating a large all-ages scene. As well as releasing the 'The Meanie Of Life' and 'Televolusion' compilation albums, the always prolific Meanies also managed to squeezed out the 'In Search Of' and 'Cruelty's Fun' EPs between 1992-93, before heading to Seattle to record album number two. Spawning the singles 'Conan', '10% Weird' and 'Ton Of Bricks', the release of the '10% Weird' record in 1994 saw The Meanies become one of the Australia's most popular alternative bands through the mid-90's, scoring them supports with the likes of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Superchunk and Fugazi.

THE MEANIES '10% Weird' 2xLP is officially out April 24th. Preorders available now from Poison City E-Store. 'Come N See' LP and 'Gangrenous/ In Search Of' Gatefold LP are out now!
