PITY SEX (US) ANNOUNCE EAST COAST AUSTRALIA TOUR
Heading to Australia for the first time this August as part of Poison City’s annual Weekender Fest, Michigan’s fuzz-pop darlings PITY SEX have also announced a short run of East Coast dates. They’ll be supported on all dates by Byron Bay/Melbourne scuzz-rock trio POSTBLUE.
Hailing from Ann Arbor, MI, Pity Sex specialize in foggy, lo-fi noise pop and fuzzed-out, blown-speaker walls of sound, all with their own midwestern emo subtleties. Situated somewhere at the convergence of Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth and Hum, the bands quietest moments are defeated reflections with plaintive instrumentals. It's loudest are desperate cries washed in searing, reverby overdrive.
Along with already announced dates, they've just added two special instore/ All-Ages shows. Wed Aug 27 at Beatdisc Records (Sydney) and Sat Aug 30 at Tym Guitars (Brisbane).
