Zero

Indiana is a world where the waters of guitar-based rock and roll still run deep and fresh. The men in this band all grew up listening to rock radio and they still believe the electric guitar is the ultimate weapon against boredom. Zero Boys released their first record in 1980. The seminal punk 7incher “Livin’ in the 80’s” is a disc that sells for more than a thousand dollars in today’s collectors market. “Vicious Circle” followed in 1982. It’s an early American Hardcore record that continues to be discovered by punk fans around the globe. Although members have come and gone over the years the core of the group remains the same and the new boys were born under the same bloody crest of Midwestern Rock and Roll.

Monkey arrives more than 20 years after the last release and it picks right up where Zero Boys left off: music recorded by grown-ass men with the average mental age of a 12-year-old boy. It is fifteen fast and furious Aquarian punk songs that eye roll at the every-man-for-himself attitude of the last 2,000 years. If you believe that time is non-linear, that it’s never too late to smash your parents' stuff, and that light and change come from within, then you will find this record a sympathetic soundtrack as you laugh your way through life.
