Blayke White is a young guy from Perth behind Abestos death Records and who by his own admission has only been collecting a really short time. With a penchant for Australian hardcore records, Blayke has amassed a pretty vast collection that includes some local classics.

The Pride of the Fleet:

Forward Defence - S/T 12''

Found My Direction - Before Their Time(Blue)

Age Of Distrust - S/T(Clear)

The Hen’s Tooth:

Depends on how you take the term rare, as in the most limited or as in what is worth the most or what is hard to come by, but to me its things that I have and would never sell.

Mindsnare/Toe To Toe Split (White/20)

Extortion/Rupture (Limited silver cover/50)

Both early Mindsnare LPs

Not Cheap:

Probably most expensive was the $200ish I spent on the Extortion/Rupture 5” with the limited cover. No doubt I’d spend more if it was something I wanted badly.

White Whale:

I have quite a few I’m chasing:

Grim Reality - Out To Win 7''

Extortion - Terminal Cancer 7'' with the 45 hole

Arms Reach 7'' on red

Why Did I Trade That:

Never really been into trading, usually like to just get rid of doubles I don't need (I don't like to part with stuff ha-ha.)

Bargain Buy:

Probably the Mindshare “Credulity” LP for $20 from a guy in Japan who had it listed wrong on eBay.

Are you a completist or collector of any band or label in particular:

Quite a bit. I have a few bands I'm into collecting, but mainly its Extortion, Toe To Toe and Suffer.

How do you usually acquire your records? Shops, distros, internet, trades, friends etc?

All these ways, mainly over the internet though, as Perth lacks decent second hand shops that have a decent section in hardcore.

Guilty pleasure or secret shame:

Ha-ha can't say I have one!

What’s the absolute limit you would ever pay for a record?

No more than $500, but that would have to be on an OG Antidote 7'' or something crazy along those lines.

Are record collectors all really pretentious arseholes?

Ha-ha yes of course.
