Whitewinter Records is teaming up with Arrest Records Australia to together release the coming LP titled 'Holy Lands' from the mighty Sumeru.
Sumeru is a Sydney based stoner rock/metal five piece with a big sound, big ambitions and an even bigger concept behind their songs, lyrics and imagery, features ex and current members of Blkout, Lomera, Firearms, Shake Your Blood and No Apologies.
“Sumeru is the name of the central world-mountain in Buddhist cosmology. It talks about Sumeru being the most expansive, all encompassing thing you can ever imagine and it’s a theme that is carried throughout Pete’s lyrics and the music.”
Highly recommended if you're a fan of sludgy/heavy/riff-laden bands like Down, Church of Misery, Crowbar and the-like.
To coincide with their east coast tour that begins this weekend, Sumeru has released two songs from the upcoming 7 song 12” album up for streaming. You can check them out below.
Each record label will have a unique color vinyl option which will be available digitally and 12” LP preorders from October 6th
